My business experience has taught me one true thing: That maximizing your productivity, happiness, peace, or impact can best be accomplished if you clearly understand the 12 Rules of Time.
Instead of tearing your hair out, do a little research. Make friends with the church historian. Read the Annual Report Design. One pastor read through the reports for his church and noticed every pastor tried to make the same changes, going back before he was born. He realized the chance of him shifting those patterns significantly — as he had hoped to do when he arrived — was small. In a way, this takes the pressure off.
Robinson has been a creative director for 20 years and has managed countless projects for countless companies (Revlon, Marriot, and Citicorp Global Payment Products, to name just a few). Operationally, one thing has consistently driven him crazy: effective management of the files used to create and support brand identity. These files include advertisements, radio and TV commercials, photographs, and design assets like logos and fonts.
If you have decent credit, start with cards with a lesser interest rate and no annual fees. If you have marginal credit, compare cards that offer a reasonable interest rate, a small annual fee, but always read the fine print for penalties, etc. And, if your credit history is really poor, find a Secured Instant Approval Credit Card. These will offer credit up to an amount you put on deposit with them in advance. They will take a fee for the privilege which is why you should first consider your local bank for such a card.
The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) provides an company annnual report explaining how consumers spend their money. The information in the report is taken from data or interviews involving over 120 million households. The data for 2008 was released in October, 2009. The average for all the data collected showed 63.7% of take home money going into the three biggest areas of spending – food, housing, and transportation – what I call the three budget boulders.
An annual can serve many purposes. Start with the required one – reporting the facts and figures for the year. Then, there is the opportunity to reflect on your accomplishments and forecast your future growth. There is also the chance to share pictures, especially if your annual is to serve as a key marketing piece throughout the year (both online and in print). Donors will be particularly interested in this opportunity to read about your status.
In this situation, I explained that my company reports late payers to one of the big credit bureaus. When my bill became more than 30 days overdue, the report would go in. Most small businesses do not know how to do that, but I do. My customer realized if that bad report showed up in their credit record, other suppliers would start demanding cash up front, which would make their quarterly report worse. They paid and were never again late.
Any time you establish any payment plan with any creditor, make sure you get it in writing. If the creditor tries to change the agreement or if it the company is sold to someone else, you will have documentation to support your case. You also want it in writing if it gets paid off so you can go ahead and send it to credit reporting agencies.
People often say I have great self-control. In truth, though, much of it is environment control. I control my environment to eliminate things that I might use to procrastinate. Take games off your computer, for example, sell your TV, and get rid of the busywork jobs that you use to avoid the important tasks.
These are just a few of the more commonly used terms in bookkeeping that one may encounter. These will help foster better understanding between the bookkeeper and the establishment owner by helping them understand each other better.
